Dear Friends of Goodwill,
As you read this year’s annual report, I hope you share our
excitement about the strong results we achieved in 2025 and the
bright future ahead. This past year brought exceptional financial
performance and meaningful expansion of our mission services,
allowing us to reach more people across the greater Houston area. Our team remained
focused on executing the first phase of our growth plan and deepening our impact on the
communities we serve. I am pleased to share that Goodwill Houston ended 2025 well above
budget and with a strong balance sheet that positions us for continued mission success.
Looking forward, we will continue transforming our organization as we pursue growth in both
community services and our donated goods operations throughout the region.
Thanks to the generous support of our donors, shoppers, friends, and the dedicated
volunteer members of our Board of Directors, we were able to transform thousands of lives
across the greater Houston area. In 2025, our Workforce Development programs served
more than 21,292 people, and we proudly placed 4,596 individuals. Through our donated
goods program, we built upon the simple but powerful act of donating gently used
household items. Those donations generated $134,312,000 in revenue and kept over 100
million pounds of material out of local landfills. Together, these efforts reflect the heart of
our mission and the impact we can achieve when our community stands with us.
At the close of the year, we celebrated an important leadership transition. Aer six years of
dedicated service, Board Chair, Craig Nunez, concluded his term, passing the torch to Sandy
Sco, who steps into the role as we begin 2026. On behalf of our entire leadership team, I
extend heartfelt appreciation to Craig for his calm, steady, and visionary guidance. During
his tenure, Goodwill Houston grew stronger, navigated the challenges of the COVID-19 era,
expanded mission impact, and experienced a seamless CEO transition in early 2024.
We are also delighted to welcome Sandy Sco as our new Board Chair. Her passion for
our mission and deep commitment to our community will help guide us into an exciting new
chapter of growth and service.
As we step into 2026, I am energized by the opportunities ahead and the continued growth
across every facet of our organization. Together, we will empower thousands more in our
community through the transformative power of work, partnership, and shared purpose.
Thank you once again for your unwavering support. It is the foundation that makes our
mission possible.
Warm regards,
Michael J. Winckler
