To My Goodwill Family:
It has been both an honor and a privilege to serve as your
Board Chair. Goodwill Houston is a great place with great
people. My six years as Board Chair were highly rewarding
on a professional and personal basis, and I’m proud of the
small part I played in the big accomplishments achieved by the organization during
that time. Whatever success I achieved was due in large part to the contributions
of the Goodwill family, a truly extraordinary group of people to work with and learn
from. Thank you for being there when I needed you.
As pleased as I am with Goodwill Houston’s recent achievements, I am even more
excited about the future with our new Board Chair, Sandy Sco, at the helm. Sandy
served as Vice Chair during my tenure and is a truly gied and outstanding leader.
Her strengths complimented my weaknesses, and her trusted guidance helped me do
things I wouldn’t have been able to do on my own. She is the right person, at the right
time, to lead Goodwill Houston to the next level. I believe history will show that the
election of Sandy as Board Chair was the most important and consequential decision
during my tenure.
Lastly, let me assure you that I am leaving Goodwill Houston in excellent shape. The
organization is coming off a record year in terms of community impact and financial
performance. The capital structure is strong, and the financial picture is more stable
than at any time in the organization’s 80-year history. The Board and management
are working well together and I expect great things in the future. You should not
anticipate any problems due to my departure.
Thank you again for all that you do.
Craig Nunez
Board Chair from 2020-2025
